Ohio State's Opponent Roundup: Week 7

UCF Knights vs. Marshall Thundering Herd - Recap - October 13, 2010 - ESPN
Ronnie Weaver rushed for a career-high 150 yards, Jeff Godfrey ran for two touchdowns and Central Florida beat Marshall 35-14 on Wednesday night. UCF (4-2, 2-0 Conference USA) broke open a close game in a steady rain with two touchdowns in the span of a minute in the third quarter and Marshall (1-5, 0-2) never recovered.

Marshall's Record: 1-5

Miami (FL) Hurricanes vs. Duke Blue Devils - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Jacory Harris threw for one touchdown and ran for another, and Miami forced seven turnovers in a 28-13 victory over Duke on Saturday. Harris was 17 of 34 for 224 yards for the Hurricanes (4-2, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). They bounced back from last week's lopsided loss to rival Florida State by rolling up 448 total yards and shutting down one of the league's top passing offenses.

Miami's Record: 4-2

Akron Zips vs. Ohio Bobcats - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Quarterback Boo Jackson ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score to lead Ohio past Akron 38-10 on Saturday. Jackson scored on a 1-yard run and wideout Terrence McCrae hauled in a 35-yard touchdown from Riley Dunlop to put the Bobcats (4-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) up 14-0 in the first quarter.

Ohio's Record: 4-3

Eastern Michigan Eagles vs. Ball State Cardinals - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Alex Gillett found Ben Thayer with a 12-yard touchdown pass in overtime and Eastern Michigan ended an 18-game losing streak with a 41-38 victory over Ball State on Saturday. Gillett ran for 189 yards and two TDs and threw for 225 yards and three scores as the Eagles (1-6, 1/3 Mid-American Conference) won their first game since Nov. 28, 2008.

Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Michigan State Spartans - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Michigan State's latest letdown lasted only a half -- and that's one sign these Spartans could be headed for a memorable season. Kirk Cousins threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Cunningham in the third quarter, helping No. 13 Michigan State to its best start in more than four decades with a 26-6 win over Illinois on Saturday. The Spartans started slowly a week after beating Michigan, but they outscored the Illini 23-0 in the second half

Illinois' Record: 3-3

Arkansas State Red Wolves vs. Indiana Hoosiers - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell took hit after hit in the first half Saturday. He just kept getting up, and eventually punched back. Chappell threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the second half, rallying the Hoosiers for a 36-34 victory over Arkansas State.

Indiana's Record: 4-2

Wisconsin's Record: 6-1

Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Purdue Boilermakers - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Dan Dierking ran for a career-high 126 yards, quarterback Rob Henry accounted for four touchdowns, and Purdue beat Minnesota 28-17 on Saturday. Henry passed for 163 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 57 yards and three scores for the Boilermakers (4-2, 2-0 Big Ten). Purdue matched its best conference start since 2004 heading into a showdown at Ohio State next Saturday.

Purdue's Record: 4-2

Minnesota's Record: 1-6

Penn State was off this weekend; they are 3-3

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines - Recap - October 16, 2010 - ESPN
Ricky Stanzi threw his third touchdown pass to Derrell Johnson-Koulianos early in the fourth quarter and Michael Meyer kicked a 30-yard field goal with 2:53 left, helping No. 15 Iowa hold off the Wolverines for a 38-28 win Saturday. Michigan outgained the Hawkeyes 522-383, but had four turnovers, didn't force one and had six of its eight penalties in the first half.

Iowa's Record: 5-1

Michigan's Record: 5-2

Opponents' Total Record: 41-36 (53%)

Michigan State now looks to be the best team in the conference; Illinois continues to battle; Iowa has gotten their season back on track; and Eastern Michigan wins their first game in two seasons.

Can’t argue with that. At this point, I’d put Ohio State in 3rd/4th position.

Granted, I don't know what down it is..
