One word can sum up the 2010 Conference USA football opener for Marshall. Nightmare. For the third consecutive road game, the Thundering Herd spotted its opposition a large lead en route to a humbling 41-16 loss Saturday night to Southern Miss in front of 27,518 fans at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Marshall's Record: 1-3

Vince Davidson scored three touchdowns and Ohio handed Eastern Michigan its 17th straight loss, 30-17 Saturday. Davidson had TD runs of 2 and 7 yards and also caught a 61-yard scoring pass from Boo Jackson as the Bobcats (2-3, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) won their sixth straight conference road game.

Eastern Michigan's Record: 0-5
Miami (FL) Hurricanes vs. Clemson Tigers - Recap - October 02, 2010 - ESPN
Quarterback Jacory Harris got No. 16 Miami ahead. Cornerback Brandon Harris made sure that lead stood up in the Hurricanes' Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Jacory Harris tied a career best with four first-half touchdown passes while teammate Harris stuffed Andre Ellington on fourth down to end Clemson's best chance to rally back in Miami's 30-21 victory on Saturday.
Miami's Record: 3-1
Michigan Wolverines vs. Indiana Hoosiers - Recap - October 02, 2010 - ESPN
Denard Robinson's gimpy left knee looked just fine to the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. Too good, really. The fleet sophomore quarterback added another chapter to his already amazing season, lobbing a 42-yard pass with 21 seconds left to set up his own 4-yard TD run and lift No. 19 Michigan to a 42-35 victory over Indiana.
Indiana's Record: 4-1
Michigan's Record: 5-0
Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State Spartans - Recap - October 02, 2010 - ESPN
No matter where Mark Dantonio is watching, the Michigan State coach influences his Spartans. With Dantonio missing for a second straight weekend, 24th-ranked Michigan State upended No. 11 Wisconsin 34-24 Saturday, and the Spartans did it with the same aggressive, gutsy play calling they used when Dantonio was on the sideline. Michigan State went for it on fourth down three times, including in the final minutes when Kirk Cousins helped ice the game with a 1-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Cunningham.
Wisconsin's Record: 4-1
Northwestern Wildcats vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers - Recap - October 02, 2010 - ESPN
Dan Persa passed for 309 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 99 yards to make up for two red-zone turnovers, leading Northwestern's rally past Minnesota Saturday for a 29-28 victory. Persa lost a fumble at the Minnesota 6 in the first quarter and was intercepted in the third quarter at the 11, helping the Gophers (1-4, 0-1 Big Ten) stay in the game and grab an eight-point lead early in the fourth quarter on Eric Lair's second touchdown catch. But the Wildcats (5-0, 1-0) came right back, pulling within six on a third-down pass from Persa to Jeremy Ebert. Persa was hit as he threw a jump ball in the air, and Ebert came down with it despite tight coverage by Ryan Collado with 8:17 left. The 2-point conversion failed, but Stefan Demos made up for an earlier missed extra point by kicking a 27-yard field goal with 2:07 remaining to give Northwestern the lead back.
Minnesota's Record: 1-4
Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Iowa Hawkeyes - Recap - October 02, 2010 - ESPN
Ricky Stanzi threw for 227 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score, and No. 17 Iowa overwhelmed 22nd-ranked Penn State 24-3 for its third straight win over the Nittany Lions. Adam Robinson added 95 yards rushing for the Hawkeyes (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten), who recorded their biggest win ever over Penn State.
Penn State's Record: 3-2
Iowa's Record: 4-1
Purdue was on a bye this week. They are 2-2.
Opponents' Record: 31-25 (55%)
Conference play will force the record to regress closer to 50% each week, so the four out of conference teams will largely determine the winning percentage of the opponents from now on.

Also Oregon over Stanford 52-31…I know it’s not part of your feature, but I just wanted to mention again that we have already beaten the third best team in the country this year :)
