It's the first time since 1996 that Indiana has won in West Lafayette. The Hoosiers (5-7, 1-7 Big Ten) ended a 12-game Big Ten losing streak, a 15-game skid against league teams away from Memorial Stadium and avoided their first winless conference season since 1995 -- barely. Ewald capped a 14-play drive by making a 26-yard field goal with 9 seconds left in regulation to force the first overtime game in the 113-game series. Purdue (4-8, 2-6) got the ball first in overtime, but on the Boilermakers' third play, Rob Henry was picked off by freshman linebacker Jeff Thomas.
