Game Notes:
- J.B. Shugarts is out. It appears true freshman Antonio Underwood will replace him. Shugarts missed snaps in last weekend's game and Underwood stepped in then, as well. It's interesting to note that Underwood got the nod instead of Andrew Norwell, who began the season at left tackle and is now playing left guard.
- After sitting against Indiana, Jordan Hall will return to the running back mix. Carlos Hyde played well in Hall's absence, so there will be controversy about who receives the excess carries behind Boom Herron.
- If all goes right, Braxton Miller may not need to complete a single pass for the Buckeyes to win. Purdue has one of the worst, and lightest, defensive lines in the Big Ten, and Ohio State's offensive line should push them around.
- Likewise, Purdue's offensive line has struggled. While the Bucks lack a pure speed rusher, defensive end Johnny Simon will wreak havoc upon the porous Boilermaker line.
- Corey "Philly" Brown will not play after injuring his ankle in practice this week.
- 89% of AtO voters expect the Buckeyes to emerge victorious.

If Bollman doesn’t learn to sometimes pass on 1st and 2nd down, 1st especially, I am going to drive out there and punch him in the crotch. Stop always putting your freshman QB in third and long.
Normally, and in the long-term, I agree. But this is a game where we should run the ball 60 times. Purdue’s front seven is light, and we can wear them down. They’ve had trouble against rushing teams all season.
That was the most pathetic excuse for a quarter of football .
The coaching is terrible.

It’s deceptive though, isn’t it? How many real pass plays has Purdue run so far?’ They’ve mostly been screens and 5-step drops.
Get Underwood out of there. Not his fault, he’s just overmatched as a true freshman on the edge. Move Norwell to right tackle and put Linsley at guard.
A team could throw a screen every down against us and never be stopped.
Week after week and we still can’t figure it out.

This defense is terrible.
How do you let that happen? No pressure, can’t cover, and can’t tackle. And it doesn’t help that they are on the field 2/3 of the game because the offense is inept.

Someone please tell me...
How we consistently get 5-star offensive linemen, and give up a million sacks? Miller sits a little long, but the line has got to give him time on some of these dumb passing calls.

How does this team get it up for a Nebraska or a Wisconsin, but look inept against Illinois and Purdue? How can a team be so wildly inconsistent? How can adjustments not be made week to week? Terrible coaching. Just plain, pure, terrible coaching.
Damnit. If he didn’t stop, he would have had a huge alley to the right.

Well, look at the bright side…at least we don’t have to hear anymore ’Maybe Fickell should stay" rumblings. That was very frightening to me.
There’s a rumbling that Urban Meyer has agreed to the job and Fickell has agreed to stay as Assistant Head Coach. It’s coming from someone generally accepted as an insider, too.
Would you be ok with that?

burned on every roll out play all day.
No pressure, terrible coverage, bad tackling, losing yardage on first down, predictable play calling, poor throws, and sacks = losing to fucking Purdue. Get Bollman and Fickel the fuck out of there, and take Gene Smith with them.

I felt exactly the way you did inside. Gene Smith and Bollman need to be put in a retirement home somewhere. They’ve both proven that that type of ineptitude has no place at OSU.
