Bud Elliot, who runs Tomahawk Nation and SB Nation Recruiting, and I had a discussion yesterday regarding Urban Meyer and the impact he may have upon Ohio State recruiting. It's up on SB Nation's main page.

Of importance:

1. Meyer plans to honor all current commitments. He must, or he risks upsetting the Ohio High School Coaches Association.

2. Offensive line is the big focus right now. Meyer is going after Wisconsin commit Kyle Dodson and Notre Dame commit Taylor Decker.

3. Joel Caleb visits this weekend. If Meyer can pull him, he may have found his next Percy Harvin.

Agreed. I don't blame the ones that left, but I appreciate the ones who stayed.

Absolutely. Very well said.

Well said. Rec.

Tyler also expects that some current receivers on the team will not fit Meyer’s spread offense. He expects some to transfer and others to move to defensive back. This will open up more scholarships Meyer can use on the type of receiver he wants.

Like who?

It would not surprise me if Verlon Reed moved. Just my opinion.

T.Y. Williams
Verlon Reed
Frank Epitroupolos
Roger Lewis

I could see Williams transferring and the latter three switching to defensive back.

I could see T.Y. Williams transferring, but I think he should stick it out and move to TE. Considering Stoneburner will be a senior next year, and Coach Meyer’s offense uses a pass-catching TE, Williams could be a fit there. Yes, I know there are other players that can fit that role too, but I believe Williams could also fit there.

I would also like to see Reid Fragel move to RT. Fragel could start, and could also be used on the goal line a la tacke eligible plays.

I agree on Epitroupolos and Lewis for sure with Reed at DB too.

OSU owes Reed something here. They put him out there to cover an onside kick in a game with the offensive play calling as bad as it’s been in 50+ years. This led to him getting his knee blown out in a ridiculous situation in a ridiculous game.

Let him play where he wants.

That’s not going to happen under Meyer.

Can we get to the spring game already…. Seems like it’s taking forever.
