Around SBN: Auto Racer Jeffrey Earnhardt Excited to Make MMA Debut

Leslie Cochran was surprised when he read Sports Illustrated’s story on Jim Tressel.

The most surprising part?

Comments attributed to himself.

He said the story, which was published Monday and written by SI’s George Dohrmann and David Epstein, included a quote that he said was "fabricated."

Funny how a lot of these sensationalized accusations are being explained. Looks as though TP’s car usage is on the up and up, Ray Isaac and others claiming fabrication of facts. Sad part is that the claims of these “juornalists” are being considered fact.

Each reply connects to the comment before it. When I deleted sixfoot7’s comment, yours went with it. There is no way to avoid it.

I guess lying makes "award winning journalism" a bit easier.

Sorry to burst some bubbles, but if the story was such a “lie” then why did Tressel retire?

After the lengthy negative spotlight on Ohio State, Tressel lost the support of Les Wexner and the Board of Directors. The university and its compliance department is now facing further scrutiny by the NCAA, and the decision-makers believed they had to make a decision to save the program and make it appear as if the problems were isolated to one man.

I think that makes more sense than Ohio State reacting to a Sports Illustrated piece by quickly firing its head coach.

A piece that wasn’t even released yet.

The school thought it better to seperate themselve’s from him. The continuing witch hunt probably got to him too. Time will tell whether the stories are true or not. Several people have refuted the story and it’s details.
